Every fall, our community comes together for Walking to Remember, ACA's signature event honoring caregivers, celebrating loved ones living with Alzheimer's, and remembering those we've lost. It's a day filled with connection, hope, and purpose — and this year, we're starting the excitement early.

Right now, we're inviting YOU to help shape the event by voting for this year's theme. Voting is open through July 29 at noon, and every vote helps us create an event that truly reflects our community.

Team Captain Kickoff Rally – Sept. 10

Walking to Remember is powered by teams: families, workplaces, neighborhoods, faith groups, and friends who walk together in honor of someone they love. Starting a team is simple, and it's one of the most meaningful ways to support dementia caregivers across Alabama.

To celebrate our team captains and help everyone get ready for the big day, ACA is hosting a Team Captain Kickoff Party on September 10, from 4:30-6:30 pm at the ACA office.

This drop in event is especially for team captains. You'll connect with other team captains, learn what's new for this year's event, and leave with everything you need to recruit your team and begin fundraising. It's a great way to kick off the event and make sure you have everything you need for a successful walk.

At the Kickoff Party you'll:

👉 Receive fundraising tools, ideas, and best practices to help your team succeed.

👉 Pick up your Team Captain packet, including your Team Captain T-shirt, fundraising materials, template letters, and co-branded flyers to help promote your team.

👉 Help us recognize returning teams and sponsors.

connecting with fellow team captains and supporters.
