Alzheimer’s of Central Alabama (ACA) is a local non-profit organization and resource center serving Alzheimer’s patients, caregivers and professionals across the state.
Mission
Alzheimer’s of Central Alabama helps Alabama families affected by Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias by providing practical assistance, education, caregiver support, and resources that improve quality of life and help individuals remain safely at home.
Vision
A future where every Alabama family affected by dementia has the support, resources, and hope they need to live with dignity.
Our Objectives
- Assist with the cost of respite care, adult day services, and limited supplies
- Provide educational opportunities through public seminars, a comprehensive resource center, telephone information, a newsletter, and weekly email communications.
- Support dementia research
- Provide advocacy and increase public awareness
- Despite our name, our board of directors voted several years ago to offer our services to residents of every county in Alabama.
ACA is a member of the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America
The mission of the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (AFA) is to provide support, services and education to individuals, families and caregivers affected by Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias nationwide, and fund research for better treatment and a cure. www.alzfdn.org
